Siro: How AI Debriefs Helped One Sales Rep Reach a 68% Close Rate

Siro records in-person sales conversations on a phone, then turns them into custom scores linked to exact moments, manager coaching, and rep debrief practice under an enterprise subscription; in an April 2026 vendor case, one Culligan salesperson reported lifting his close rate from 48% to 68%, while dealers using Siro reportedly sold 17% more units on average than non-users.

Matt Snezik sells water-treatment equipment in customers’ homes. He began using Siro to record those conversations, let AI analyze them, and then review the recordings himself. The veteran Hall’s Culligan salesperson was initially skeptical that the software would help. In a case study published in April 2026, Siro said his close rate later rose from 48% to 68%.

The same case study reported that dealers using Siro sold 17% more units on average than dealers that did not use it. These are customer results disclosed by the vendor. Siro did not publish the sample size or comparison method, so the differences cannot all be attributed to AI. Culligan customer case

The business question worth unpacking is this: when a manager cannot follow every customer visit, how did recording software take on part of the sales-training job?

Managers know who sells well, but not why

Culligan’s problem was not a lack of top performers. It was the difficulty of teaching everyone else what those performers did differently. Managers could see the gap in results but not the gap inside the conversation. Following every in-home visit was unrealistic, and a salesperson’s account after the meeting rarely showed the exact sentence after which a customer hesitated.

Siro’s entry point is deliberately light. With the customer’s consent, the salesperson taps record on a phone and leaves it nearby. The app can record without a network connection and upload when service returns. No separate recording hardware is required. In-person recording workflow

The difference emerges after the conversation ends. A team can configure scoring criteria around its own sales process: whether the rep uncovered the customer’s needs, how the proposal and price were presented, and whether a next step was secured. Opening a score takes the manager back to the corresponding moment in the recording instead of returning a vague judgment such as “communication needs improvement.” Scoring with evidence-linked moments

That lets a manager spend time on a specific problem. Did the rep skip the required question, or ask it without uncovering the customer’s reason to buy? When Siro introduced these scorecards in May 2025, it placed cross-location management and targeted coaching at the center of the feature. Scorecard launch announcement

The company pays, but the salesperson decides whether to record

Signing the contract is not enough. If salespeople do not start recordings, the manager has purchased an empty dashboard. Siro’s own rollout guide acknowledges that teams may fear surveillance or fault-finding. It recommends letting salespeople first become comfortable recording before introducing coaching, and sharing successful moments in team meetings instead of beginning with a search for mistakes. The product now also gives the salesperson an immediate reason to use it. Under Siro’s current workflow, the system can call roughly ten minutes after a recording ends to discuss what went well, identify one thing to change next time, and practice a revised response on the spot. Strong conversations from colleagues can be organized into playlists for the rest of the team to study. Debrief and practice workflow

This changes the delivery challenge for sales AI. Generating a summary is not difficult. Keeping a company subscribed requires more than storing recordings: managers need to find the people and moments that deserve coaching, while salespeople need to practice the answer they missed before meeting the next customer.
